Jimmy's fascination with markets started at thirteen, with a book on investing he read cover to cover in a single sitting. He went on to spend three decades in technology — spanning AI, cloud, and security — including at IBM, where he led business planning for a multibillion-dollar business unit, with later roles at HP Software. He holds degrees in aerospace and industrial engineering.
Today he leads ZAMP as a value-added venture fund, pairing capital with deep technical and go-to-market expertise and a global network built across the World Economic Forum in Davos and the Mobile World Congress. The goal for everyone who works with ZAMP is simple: to walk away with more optimism and enthusiasm than they came in with.
A long-term play, plainly stated.
Venture isn't the stock market, or betting on any activity — it's a long-term play. Not a three-month or three-day thing, but a three-, five-, seven-, even ten-to-fifteen-year play. Our investors are sophisticated and mature; they understand they don't have the liquidity of the stock market or cash. If an investor doesn't understand that limited liquidity, it probably doesn't make sense for us to work together.
